Finding Moonshine in Every Turn
Marigold was a cook for the mining camps in California. She was in high demand because she could fry up a mean buffalo steak and mix up the best sourdough biscuits on the west side of the Sierras, not to mention her infamous moonshine still. And she only charged a pinch of gold dust for a plate or a pint. She was the richest person, man or woman, for miles. Until the accident….

And she only charged a pinch of gold dust for a plate or a pint. She was the richest person, man or woman, for miles. Until the accident….
No one knows what happened, but one night they found her unconscious, hugging her moonshine to her bosom and a big goose egg on her temple. She was never right since. She forgot how to bake, fry and roast. She burned everything she cooked. The mining camp turned her out and Madame Trixie took her in. So long as Goldie has some moonshine in her, she’s alright.

On the weekends, for part of the year, Goldie is known as "Mistress Harrington" in the Queens Court at the Renniasance Pleasure Faire. She is the Mother of the Maids, meaning she's in charge of instructing the young ladies on how to behave. On other weekends, she assists with the handling of birds of prey, like owls, hawks, and falcons. Not bad for a washed up cook.
